What is Boomerang and how does it work?

Boomerang is a digital health company focused on helping users monitor and care for their health by providing access to convenient at-home diagnostic test kits and customizable wellness plans.

Users can order test kits directly to their home that support Men's Health, Women's Health, Sexual Health, and General Wellness

Once the kit arrives, users will find instructions for self-collecting their sample, registering their kit online with Boomerang's lab, and shipping their sample back for testing. 

When testing is complete, digital results are delivered to the user through a secure portal.

Throughout the process, a wellness advisor from Boomerang will help guide the user as well as provide actionable next steps after results are available.

Does Boomerang receive samples 7 days a week?

We receive samples Monday-Saturday. Depending on the return shipping included with your test kit, you can determine when your sample will arrive back to our lab. 

USPS Priority shipping arrives to our lab within 1-3 days Monday-Saturday.

Standard Overnight shipping arrives to our lab the next day by 5pm Monday-Friday. 
*Any sample shipped to our lab on Friday will arrive Monday by 5pm. 

Priority Overnight shipping arrives to our lab the next day by 10am Monday-Saturday. 
*Any sample shipped to our lab on Friday will arrive Saturday and any sample shipped Saturday will arrive Monday. 

Are Boomerang's test kits covered by insurance?

Currently, only our at-home COVID-19 test kits are covered by insurance. Check with your provider to confirm that at-home COVID-19 test kits are covered by your insurance.

When will I receive my test results?

Delivery of results depends on the type of test you've ordered. 

Each test kit has details in the description on its product page in regard to when you should expect to receive your results.

How do I see the status of my test results?

Test registration and result reports are both processed through our HIPAA-compliant lab system partner ELIS. 

It's important to remember that you have two accounts through Boomerang. One for order information and another separate account through ELIS where your patient information is securely stored. 

You can access ELIS through your Boomerang account dashboard under the tab labeled "Test Manager". 

You will be notified when your results are ready to review through email by ELIS, but if you would like to check on their status, you can login any time to ELIS through your Boomerang account dashboard and check status there.

How credible is Boomerang?

Boomerang is an at-home medical test kit developed by BioGnomics Lab. 

BioGnomics is CLIA-certified which is verifiable by our CLIA number. 

You can look up our lab on the CDC's laboratory search website by clicking here and entering our name and CLIA number 05D2198454. 

Please note: BioGnomics Lab does not offer any in-person testing appointments.
